Sea Lettuce –
Species of sea lettuce are incredibly popular in Scandinavia, Ireland, Japan, and China. Concentrated in protein, dietary fiber, and an array of vitamins and minerals, Sea Lettuce offers an abundant source of antioxidants and health-preserving compounds with a delicate flavor and vibrant color palate.

Red Sea Vegetables –
Red marine sea vegetables have been used for thousands of years around the world for their high nutritional content, including concentrations of trace minerals absorbed from the ocean.

 

Norwegian Kelp –
Shores in Norway are abundantly awash with this rich sea vegetable. Norwegian Kelp is one of nature’s most densely concentrated sources of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, containing 60 trace minerals, 12 vitamins, and 20 essential amino acids.

Its powerful nutritional compounds account for an impressive number of health benefits and has been used to treat a variety of ailments and conditions, including arthritis pain, liver function, heart disease, cancer, weight loss, constipation, high cholesterol, and hair loss.

 

Nori –
The Japanese consume approximately 10 billion sheets of nori per year, and for good reason-for centuries, nori has long been purported as a food that supports longevity. Nori contains one of the highest concentrations of nutrients of all seaaweeds, with as much protein as soybeans. Nori also supplies calcium and iron in qualities and qualities ideal for regular consumption.

Nori also is vibrantly flavorful, and contains a rich reservoir of 12 essential vitamins, including A and B vitamins:  Two sheets of nori contain daily recommended amounts of Vitamin A, B1, and B2.  Nori yields twice the amount of Vitamin C as tangerines, and retains its vitamin C profile even when heated.

 

Kombu –
Known by some as the king of seaweeds, Kombu is a brown type of kelp that grows in long narrow blades (up to 6 feet long), in dense forests below the tide.  A rich source of iodine, Kombu has been used to treat thyroid dysfunction.

It contains concentrated amounts of calcium, potassium, magnesium, trace minerals (including copper and zinc), as well as chromium.  Incredibly low in calories, high in fiber, and delicious.  Kombu has been a staple in the Japanese diet for centuries.

 

Irish Moss –
Irish Moss boosts the body when recovering from an illness, unleashing a tidal wave of important nutrients-15 of the 18 elements composing the human body.

Irish moss has also been used to treat bronchitis, thyroid dysfunction, and to improve and strengthen glands. Irish moss is also used as a gentle anticoagulant and has been used to treat gastrointestinal disturbances, such as diarrhea.  Researchers have discovered that Irish moss may also improve blood pressure and may prove useful in the treatment of peptic ulcers without effecting colon health.

 

Honey –
Honey is the concentrated nectar of flowers extracted by bees. It contains a variety of flavonoids and antioxidants which work to scavenge and eliminate free radicals and is also a natural sweetener. Life Force uses organic honey that has not been pasteurized.

 

Green Sea Vegetables –
Like emeralds of the sea, green sea vegetables emit a wealth of minerals and nutrients in concentrations greater than can be found in many land-grown vegetables. Offering 60 to 70 percent digestible vegetable protein, green sea vegetables are also an important source of calcium, iron, enzymes and antioxidants.

Gigartina Chamissoi –
Gigartina Chamissoi is a leafy red seaweed containing a plethora of beneficial polysaccharides (carragreenans). Scientists have discovered that these carragreenans may possess some unique medicinal properties. They have found them to be antibacterial as well as antiviral. In fact, carragreenans may also be anti-herpetic (able to kill the herpes viruses) and anti-coagulant.

 

Dulse –
Dulse is heralded as a phenomenal source of vitamins and nutrients, and cultures in Canada, Ireland, and Northern Europe have highly regarded Dulse for centuries.

Amply rich in Vitamins B6 and B12, Dulse offers iron, potassium and fluoride in digestible, easily assimilated quantities.

Dulse also contains a host of other nutrients and vitamins, including Vitamin A, E, and C, magnesium, calcium, fiber, and protein.

An excellent source of iodine, Dulse has been used to improve thyroid gland health and function.

 

Dabber Locks –
Dabber locks or winged kelp grows in branched hold fasts where its blades have a distinct “wing” at the base. Found along the Artic to the northeast of the United States, Dabber locks are high in Vitamins A, B6, B12, and K. In addition to iodine and bromine, Dabber locks contain soluble nitrogen, cobalt, nickel, and other essential trace elements.

Historically used by Icelanders in time of famine, Dabber locks has been considered to be one of the most easily digestible and well-tolerated sea vegetables, often consumed in significant qualities.

 

Brown Sea Vegetables –
Brown sea vegetables thrive in lush underwater forests, and purport tremendous nutrients and compounds. Bladder Wrack –
Bladder wrack is a common brown sea vegetable that nestles upon rocks in colonies. Bladder wrack may also form mats of floating seaweed when torn from rocks during storms and wash ashore onto nearby beaches.

Bladder wrack has been used to assist in weight loss by nourishing the thyroid.
